Due
to the changing landscape of the high school hockey
programs in the Dayton area (and the feeder teams such as
junior varsity and bantams) it is difficult to field full
teams in the bantam and midget age groups consistently.
The Board is forced to make a decision based on either
expected or true registrations as to whether to offer a
team in these age divisions.
Due
to the small number of expected number of registrations, The DBYHL will not
offer a
Midget program this fall season.
This division is for players aged 15 - 17
year olds. The DBYHL normally offers a travel program only
for this level. Players are taken based on the
registrations received by our deadline date. They will generally play
teams from outside the area and travel more with possible
over night stays. They will practice at least 1-1/2 times
per week and play at least 20 games as well as do more
practices, games & tournament if the team decides.
